How I’m moving on up…to the west side.

Yes, I deserve to be slapped continuously in the face with a machinated slapping machine because I have not posted in a month. Its terrible. I admit it. I’m sorry! Please forgive me. Or you can join in on the slapping, and then forgive me. You’re choice.

So, I’ve made some pretty serious steps recently.

1) I got an apartment! Woot woot! 1 year lease = serious. Right?

2) I’m working as a freelance wardrobe stylist and writer. Does this pay the bills?….sort of…

For me, these a big steps. The road to adulthood paved with leases and check stubs. I learned that leases are 5 million pages long. I learned that taxes suck. I learned that the cost of living in a metropolitan city is very expensive and doesn’t lend itself to singlehood. And I learned that bills get in the way of dreams. These are all the average lessons that people learn to late.

How does it make me feel? Kinda like I’m playing house. Except I’m Barbie’s ethnically ambiguous cousin living with the Asian Barbie, Marina. I have yet to be named. Too much controversy.

Point is, I’m excited for a fresh start and new energy. Moving can be very restorative for the soul, and I could use a cleanse. Plus I get to live in one of those cool “up-in-coming” areas. Bars, restaurants, Mosques, chipotle’s, and laundry mats–the real American dream.
